John Jarrard

John Jarrard is the director of state and local government affairs for the American Hotel and Lodging Association. His territory encompasses six states in the Southeast, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Since leaving a contract government affairs firm and joining AHLA in 2021, John has worked with elected leaders and businesses in several states to pass hotel-friendly legislation, along with defending against issues that would have handcuffed the lodging industry. Additionally, John works closely with several partner state associations, including Hospitality Tennessee, to ensure synergy across all levels of advocacy. A graduate of the University of Georgia and current resident of Atlanta, you can find John on the golf course or a local running trail when he’s not in the office.
